Mistfall Hunter Guide: What's Confirmed, What's Broken, What's Coming

By DayOneFix Editorial · August 7, 2026

Mistfall Hunter is a third-person PvPvE extraction ARPG from Bellring Games, published by Skystone Games. It went live on July 29, 2026 on Steam (the official launch FAQ puts the exact moment at 01:00 UTC on July 30), and it landed on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass day one — Xbox confirmed the Game Pass launch on Xbox Wire.

It sold hard and reviewed rough. Bellring announced over 1,000,000 players across platforms within a week, Steam user reviews sit at “Mixed” — about 64% positive across roughly 8,900 reviews as of August 7 — and the Steam discussion board fills up with crash and latency threads faster than design arguments.

This hub is the index. Every page below sticks to what an official Bellring post, the Steam store listing, or a named community/press source actually says. Where nobody has confirmed something, we say so instead of filling the gap.

The core loop, in one paragraph

You drop into a map, kill Corroded monsters, loot, and try to leave with what you carried out. Extraction is the whole game: you need a Soul of Return, you spend it to summon an Extraction Point, then you channel at the portal to escape — KeenGamer’s extraction guide walks the full sequence. Die before that and you lose what you were carrying. Rival players (“Gyldhunters”) are in the map with you the entire time, and taking your loot is a legitimate way for them to play.

There are six classes — Mercenary, Blackarrow, Sorcerer, Shadowstrix, Seer and Withered Knight — each with two weapon stances, and the Steam store page describes a “precision free-aim system” — which is the polite way of saying there is no lock-on button. See the controls page for what that means in a fight.

The launch timing (live on July 29, with the official FAQ putting the exact moment at 01:00 UTC on July 30), the September Brandrgarde Solo Mode, the line about actively investigating stutter and latency, the pure-PvE mode being in the works from the July 10 AMA, crossplay matchmaking, the cheating and Illegal Teaming penalties, and the three-to-four-month season length all come from the official Mistfall Hunter Steam announcements. Day-one Xbox Game Pass is confirmed by Xbox Wire. The six classes (named individually on the classes page from Bellring’s DevNotes), the “precise free-aim system” wording, and the “Mixed” review state — about 64% positive across roughly 8,900 reviews as of August 7 — come from the Steam store page; review counts move, and we did not re-pull that figure today. The extraction sequence (spending a Soul of Return to summon an Extraction Point, then channelling at the portal) comes from KeenGamer’s extraction guide. The absence of cross-progression between PS5 and PC comes from GamingTrend’s review, and the missing native FOV setting from Game Rant. The observation that crash and latency threads pile up faster than design arguments is ours, from reading the Steam discussion board. Bellring’s “no Oceanic servers, refunds offered” position is a forum reply — an official staff statement in a community channel rather than a formal announcement. Puzzle solutions, code chains and item locations are absent from this site because we have no second source to cross-check them against.
