Neverness to Everness server status: is it down, or is it maintenance?
By DayOneFix Editorial · August 16, 2026
Lag or disconnects on launch day?
Half the launch-week "server errors" we trace are routing problems between you and the game servers, not the servers themselves. A game booster reroutes that path. GearUP is the one we point people to: it supports most new releases within a day of launch.

Almost every “NTE servers are down” search lands during scheduled maintenance that was announced in a timezone the player doesn’t use. NTE’s global notices — not just the CN ones — are stamped UTC+8. So the version 1.3 update dated 19 August starts on 18 August for anyone in the Americas or Europe.
This page gives the expected window in your timezone, then the check that separates real trouble from a normal patch day.
Launch-day live status (19 August)
Servers are open — 1.3 launched on schedule. Maintenance ended at 11:00 (UTC+8) as announced; within minutes, players confirmed being in-game on the PC launcher and PS5, with the update downloadable on the official launcher (community confirmations, 11:02–11:03 UTC+8).
- Still patching on Steam? Pre-loaders were hitting a “Content File Locked” error during the window. If it persists: exit the game client fully, restart Steam, then Verify integrity of game files; if it recurs, temporarily exclude the install folder from your antivirus and retry. Do not delete the pre-load.
- Compensation — 600 Annuliths total (300 maintenance + 300 bug-fix) — arrives by in-game mail for characters created before 06:00 (UTC+8), and the mail can lag the launch by a while. Check the mailbox before reporting it missing.
Correction note kept for the record: an earlier revision of this block misread the clock and described the schedule as overrun. It was not — the error was ours.
The 1.3 global maintenance window
Official: 19 August 2026, 06:00 – 11:00 (UTC+8) — five hours, servers back at 11:00. The global 1.3 patch notes, posted 18 August, confirm exactly the window this page had derived — and note maintenance may end earlier or later depending on progress. The original reasoning below stands as the method, now validated:
- The official global notice for the current banner states the Iroi board runs until 19 August 2026, 05:59 (UTC+8). Version banners end immediately before the maintenance that replaces them, which puts the 1.3 downtime at 06:00 UTC+8 that day.
- Every NTE maintenance we can find — the global 29 July server maintenance, the global 1.2 patch, and the CN 1.2 and 1.3 updates — has used the same 06:00 – 11:00 (UTC+8) window.
- CN 1.3 ran on exactly that window on 13 August and finished inside it.
The notice is now out and matches. If anything shifts mid-maintenance, official announcements win over this page.

Read the row for your city, not the headline date. If you are in Los Angeles, “the 19 August update” is a Tuesday afternoon for you, and the game goes down while it is still 18 August where you are.
One thing starts earlier than the maintenance: the Pink Paws Heist mode closes 30 minutes before the servers do — 05:30 UTC+8, which is 14:30 PDT / 17:30 EDT on 18 August. Both the CN 1.3 notice and the global 29 July notice state this explicitly. If that mode vanishes from your menu, the patch is half an hour out; nothing is broken.
Is it down, or is it you? The 60-second check
- Check the clock against the table above first. During the window, login failure is the expected behaviour, not a fault. This is the answer for the large majority of people who search this.
- After maintenance ends, restart the client before anything else. The official global notice is explicit: “After maintenance, restart your game to install the updates.” An open client left running through the window will keep failing until it is closed and reopened — that alone explains a lot of “servers still down” reports in the hour after a patch.
- NTE has no public status dashboard. Outage acknowledgements go on the game’s official social channels and the notices index, not a status page. If nothing has been posted and logins fail broadly outside the window, that is load rather than a declared outage.
- A “not available in your country” message is policy, not downtime. That is a storefront/region matter and no amount of retrying changes it.
- Everything working except one mode is almost never a server problem — see the Pink Paws Heist note above, and check whether an event simply ended.
What patch day actually looks like
- Login fails during the window. Expected. Retrying in bursts does nothing; the servers are off.
- Client still failing after the window closes. Cold-restart first (point 2). Maintenance can also “end earlier or later than scheduled depending on actual progress” — the notices say so in as many words, so a short overrun is normal and does not mean an incident.
- The update download is large. CN’s 1.3 notice went out of its way to warn that “this update contains a large volume of resources” and to plan your connection accordingly — unusual enough for the publisher to call out, so budget time and data rather than assuming a stalled download is broken.
- Compensation arrives by in-game mail after maintenance, not instantly. The global 29 July maintenance paid Annulith ×300. CN’s 1.3 update paid Annulith ×300 for the maintenance plus another ×300 as bug-fix compensation, to accounts created before the window opened. The global 1.3 notes confirm the CN-style figure: 600 Annuliths total — but the mail can take a while, so check the mailbox before reporting it missing.

Maintenance-window pattern and the Pink Paws Heist pre-close from the official global Server Maintenance Notice for 29 July (which also carries the Iroi board’s 19 August 05:59 UTC+8 end time and the Annulith ×300 compensation) and the official CN 1.3 update notice of 12 August (06:00–11:00 UTC+8 window, 05:30 mode closure, large-resource warning, 300+300 Annulith compensation). The derived window was confirmed verbatim by the official global Ver. 1.3 patch notes posted 18 August — 06:00–11:00 (UTC+8), 600 Annuliths total compensation by mail.
