Halloween: The Game editions and price: $39.99 or $59.99 digital, $149.99 for the Collector's

By DayOneFix Editorial · August 24, 2026

Halloween: The Game is $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $59.99 for the digital Deluxe Edition. Physical arrives separately on 6 October: $39.99 for the boxed Standard and $149.99 for the limited Collector’s Edition. Every version pre-ordered also gets the Phantom Michael Myers skin, which the official announcement says will not be offered after launch.

The digital prices are consistent across Steam, PlayStation and Xbox. Epic Games Store pricing is not verified on this page — see the caveats at the bottom.

What the digital Deluxe Edition actually contains

Three named things plus a fourth that is deliberately not named:

Steam corroborates the Advance Access entitlement independently of the announcement: the Deluxe package carries an “Advance Access / Starts Sep 4” marker and the line “play the game starting 4 days ahead of full release”, while the $39.99 Standard package carries no such marker.

Is the Deluxe Edition worth $20 more?

We will not tell you whether the content is good — nobody has played it. What we can do is state exactly what the extra $20 buys, which is the part people actually get wrong:

You are paying $20 for four items and four days. One Michael Myers skin, two exclusive civilian characters, an unspecified “more surprises”, and access starting 4 September instead of 8 September.

Three factual points that bear on the decision:

  1. The Phantom Michael Myers skin is not a Deluxe feature. It is the pre-order bonus, and it comes with a pre-ordered Standard Edition too. If that skin is what you wanted, it is available at $39.99.
  2. The four days are tied to pre-ordering. The announcement frames Advance Access around Deluxe pre-orders. Whether buying the Deluxe Edition after the pre-order window still grants 4 September access has not been stated. Do not assume it does.
  3. Richard and Alexis are civilians, not killers. There is exactly one killer in the game — Michael Myers — and no second killer has ever been announced. Deluxe adds playable characters on the four-person side of a 1v4 match, not a new killer.

The physical editions, and the Advance Access wording trap

The physical Standard and the limited Collector’s Edition both release 6 October 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X. There is no announced physical PC release.

The $149.99 Collector’s Edition contains the Samhain skin, four civilian cosmetic items, a Shape Jump figure and a mirrored art card.

Now the trap, because the official site uses “Advance Access” for two unrelated things. On the digital Deluxe Edition it means early play. On the physical editions it means cosmetics, and the announcement says so directly:

“The Advance Access cosmetic items can be instantly unlocked for players who purchase the physical editions”

So a physical buyer gets those cosmetic items unlocked instantly — not the ability to play before release. Which would be impossible regardless: the boxes arrive on 6 October, a month after the digital launch on 8 September.

Three things to know before you buy

These are on the store pages rather than in the marketing, and each one is a genuine buying consideration for some people.

Easy Anti-Cheat, kernel-level. It is listed on the Steam store page. If you have a policy about kernel-level anti-cheat on your machine — some players do, for dual-boot, virtualisation or security reasons — this is the game telling you in advance.

In-game purchases. Steam carries the “In-Game Purchases” notice, and PlayStation labels them as optional. Separately, the developer team has described in-game currency as being in planning. No storefront, battle pass, season pass or DLC has been announced, and Steam’s listing shows no DLC entries at all. What the in-game purchases will be is therefore an open question — the disclosure exists, the detail does not.

Australia and New Zealand cannot buy any of these editions. The Australian Classification Board refused the game a rating over drug use linked to an incentive or reward, and the publisher’s statement says plainly that it cannot sell “the physical or digital product in both Australia and New Zealand”. That applies to every row of the table above, and no appeal has been announced.

FAQ

How much does Halloween: The Game cost? $39.99 for the Standard Edition and $59.99 for the digital Deluxe Edition, consistent across Steam, PlayStation and Xbox. The boxed Standard is also $39.99 and the limited Collector’s Edition is $149.99, both released 6 October 2026.

What do you get in the Halloween: The Game Deluxe Edition? The Inmate Michael Myers skin, two exclusive civilian characters named Richard and Alexis, “And More Surprises!” in the official wording, and Advance Access — playing from 4 September 2026 at 9 AM PT on a pre-order, four days before the 8 September release.

What is the Phantom Michael Myers skin? The pre-order bonus, available with any edition pre-ordered — not a Deluxe exclusive. The official announcement states it will not be offered after launch.

What is in the $149.99 Collector’s Edition? The Samhain skin, four civilian cosmetic items, a Shape Jump figure and a mirrored art card. It is a limited physical edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X, released 6 October 2026.

Does Halloween: The Game have microtransactions? The Steam page carries the In-Game Purchases notice and PlayStation lists purchases as optional, so some form exists. Beyond that nothing is announced — no storefront details, no battle pass, no season pass, and no DLC entries on Steam.

Does Halloween: The Game use kernel-level anti-cheat? Yes — Easy Anti-Cheat is listed on the Steam store page.

Sources

The $39.99 Standard and $59.99 Deluxe digital prices were checked separately on the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox listings on 24 August 2026 and agree. From the Steam store listing, also checked 24 August 2026: the Deluxe package’s “Advance Access / Starts Sep 4” marker and its “play the game starting 4 days ahead of full release” line, the absence of that marker on the Standard package, the In-Game Purchases notice, the Easy Anti-Cheat listing, and the absence of any DLC entries.

The Deluxe contents (Inmate Michael Myers, Richard, Alexis, “And More Surprises!”), the Phantom Michael Myers pre-order bonus and the statement that it will not be offered after launch come from the official pre-order announcement. The physical Standard at $39.99, the Collector’s Edition at $149.99, their 6 October 2026 date and PS5/Xbox Series X scope, the Collector’s contents, and the quoted line about Advance Access cosmetic items unlocking instantly for physical buyers all come from the official physical editions announcement. Both checked 24 August 2026.

The Australia and New Zealand sales statement is quoted from the publisher as carried by VGC on 10 August 2026, with the classification ground reported by Press Start Australia on 14 August 2026. The in-game-currency-in-planning note is a developer remark relayed in Horror Geek Life’s IllFonic Q&A of 16 July 2026, not an official store statement, and is labelled as such above.

Epic Games Store pricing is absent here because the Epic listing did not return data on 24 August 2026 — that is a gap in our checking, not a claim that Epic prices differ. Every other item marked unverified or unannounced means all of the sources above were checked on that date and none of them contains it.
