Halloween: The Game Collector's Edition: what is in the $149.99 box, who is selling it, and the catch nobody mentions

The Halloween: The Game Limited Collector’s Edition costs $149.99 and ships on 6 October 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. IllFonic calls it a “limited quantity release,” and retailer listings have been flickering between pre-order and sold out since August. Before you chase one, read the second section — the Collector’s Edition has a timing problem that the product page does not spell out.

What is in the box

Everything in the physical Standard Edition, plus the collector’s items. From IllFonic’s announcement and the retailer listings:

Two things to read carefully in that table. First, “advance access” on a cosmetic means unlocked from the start: IllFonic says the same skins “can also be obtained by completing various in-game challenges,” so a digital player can earn them. The figure, the lenticular art and the poster are the only items that are physically exclusive. Second, the Samhain skin is the one cosmetic that only the Collector’s Edition unlocks early.

The catch: you cannot play until 6 October

Halloween: The Game launches digitally on 8 September. Digital Deluxe pre-orders start playing on 4 September at 9 AM PT. The Collector’s Edition — like the physical Standard — ships 6 October, four weeks after everyone else is in Haddonfield, and it carries no Advance Access to the game itself. The “advance access” in its listing refers to cosmetics.

So the realistic choices are:

• Collector’s only: you get the figure and the disc, and you start playing a month late.
• Collector’s plus a digital copy: you play on day one (or 4 September with Deluxe), and the disc becomes a shelf copy. That is $189.98 to $209.98 in the US, and it is what most people buying the figure will end up doing.
• Digital Deluxe only: $59.99, plays on 4 September, includes the Inmate Michael Myers skin and the two exclusive civilians (Richard and Alexis) — none of which are in the Collector’s box.

There is no upgrade path from physical to digital and no digital entitlement bundled with the disc. If IllFonic changes that before 6 October, this page will say so.

What is not in the box

• The Phantom Michael Myers skin. IllFonic’s physical-editions post says plainly: “The Phantom Michael Myers skin is a Digital Pre-order Exclusive.” It is attached to digital pre-orders of either edition and, per the pre-order post, “will not be available to purchase after launch.”
• The Deluxe content. Inmate Michael Myers, Richard and Alexis, the Laurie Strode cosmetic and the digital comic are Deluxe-only. The Collector’s Edition is built on the Standard game.
• A PC version. Physical editions are PS5 and Xbox Series X. Steam and Epic players have no boxed option.

Where it is listed

IllFonic’s own instruction is “please check your preferred retailer for availability,” and it names none. Prices above are retailer listings on the day, not a manufacturer RRP outside the US; the UK and EU figures come from the Collector’s Editions tracker, which aggregates retailer pages. Stock on a limited run moves in both directions — retailers release allocations in waves — so an “out of stock” today is not a final answer.

One region note: Australia and New Zealand refused the game classification, and IllFonic Publishing has said it cannot sell the physical or digital product in either country, so no Collector’s Edition will be sold there through official channels.
