Beetle Coins in Neverness to Everness: earning and spending
By DayOneFix Editorial · August 13, 2026
Beetle Coins are NTE’s general currency, and the question that brings people here is not how to earn them — it is what deserves them, because 1.3 just changed the answer. Here are the real numbers, largest sink first.
The costs worth planning around
| Spend | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The 1.3 villa (闲野雅筑) | 6,900,000 | Also needs Urban Tycoon level 13 — full breakdown |
| Ascending an S-rank | ~525,000 | Zankou’s figure per community pre-farm lists — her guide |
| Skill levelling, gear upgrades, furniture | Continuous | The quiet drain that empties accounts between versions |
The villa is the number that reframes everything: at 6.9 million, it costs roughly thirteen S-rank ascensions. Anyone planning to own it the week their server updates needs to stop treating Beetle Coins as pocket change months in advance, not days.
The 1.3 change that actually matters
The villa is not only a sink — the official CN update notice confirms its farm plot runs an income loop: crops you harvest can be sold for Beetle Coins by spending Urban Vitality. That makes it the first purchase in the game that pays part of itself back over time, which changes the calculation from “expensive decoration” to “expensive infrastructure”.
It does not make the villa free. It means the 6.9 million is the entry fee to a slow return, so buying it earlier is worth more than buying it later — the opposite of how most cosmetic purchases work.
Where the coins come from
The reliable sources, in rough order of yield — including two that CN players treat as calendar events rather than passive income:
- Version launch handouts — 1.3’s supply event alone gives 56,000 Beetle Coins to hunters at level 11+, no code required (the launch rewards, listed)
- Anomaly hunts and world content — the steady baseline
- The villa’s farm loop, once you own it — converts Urban Vitality into coins
- The doubled-conversion week. CN coverage flags a recurring event where Beetle Coins earned by spending Urban Vitality are doubled, capped by a stamina ceiling — worth roughly 700,000 extra coins in one run. If your server offers the same event, that single week is worth more than ten percent of the villa
- The monthly shop reset — the currency exchange refreshes on the 1st, and CN players treat clearing it as a fixed monthly routine
- Event and login rewards — bursty, tied to version windows
The trap
The common mistake in a game with a housing system is furnishing before owning. Furniture and decoration purchases feel productive and drain the exact currency the villa gate is measured in. If the villa is your goal, furniture is the thing to postpone — the house isn’t going anywhere, but every version adds new ways to spend.
The second trap is ascending characters you are not going to play. At ~525,000 per S-rank ascension, three speculative characters cost a quarter of a villa.
Global players: you have a six-day head start
CN got 1.3 on 13 August; global gets it on 19 August (why the gap exists). That is six days to bank coins with full knowledge of what they will be worth — a rare position to be in.
Sources
The villa price, the Urban Tycoon level gate and the crop-selling loop are from the official CN 1.3 update notice published for the 13 August launch; the supply-event reward is from the same notice; ascension figures are community pre-farm data, marked as such on the Zankou page.
