NTE 1.4 pre-farm: the two bosses to grind now, and why Zankou owners are already ahead

The 1.4 preview aired on 16 September and the CN banner opens 24 September. That leaves a week, and the useful thing to do with it is farm — because two of the four materials involved come from content that is already live.

Blackbird’s materials — and the shortcut

Eternal Memory is the shortcut. It is the same weekly-boss material Zankou needed 35 of. If you ascended Zankou in 1.3, you have already run that boss repeatedly and may be holding a surplus — and if you skipped Zankou, Debt Collector is live right now and your weekly clears between today and the 24th are not wasted either way.

The ascension material is the one that costs you time. It comes from a butterfly-type overworld enemy rather than a boss, which means volume farming rather than weekly locks — start now rather than on banner day.

On the missing English names: the global client has not shipped 1.4 yet, so 斑斓的票根 and 斑蝶 have no published English names. We are not going to guess at them. When the global build lands, the names appear in your own ascension screen and this page gets updated with them.

Akane Rin shares nothing with her

Worth knowing if you intend to pull both, because it doubles the farming rather than splitting it:

Her banner is 15 October to 5 November on CN, so there is no urgency yet — but if you are farming anyway, splitting your weekly clears between the two bosses from now costs you nothing.

What Blackbird actually is

From the stream, consistent across the recaps we read:

• S-rank Anima, gas-state arc disc
• Core mechanic named 即瞬环合 in CN
• Her arc-shift skill carries an off-field coordinated-attack component — she keeps contributing after you swap away
• Her ultimate opens a second form that both buffs attack and does burst damage, and you can still swap characters freely during it
• Described as main-DPS or sub-DPS, a dual-form damage unit rather than a locked role
• In the open world she turns into a bird and flies fast — CN discussion immediately called her the new best traversal character

That last point is not a footnote. In a game where overworld movement is a daily tax, a character who trivialises it has value independent of her combat tuning.

Time your stamina around the double-drop event

1.4 runs the standard double-drop event: material and arc-disc farming pay double, capped at 120 stamina a day — but the recaps note the doubled chances accumulate rather than expiring daily. There is also a separate event doubling the Fons payout from the existing heist mode, with the same total cap of 1,000,000 Fons, so it saves time rather than adding income.

Practical reading: spend stamina now on the ascension material you can only get by volume, and keep some banked for the doubled window rather than clearing everything before the version lands.

What we are not telling you

No build, no team comps, no numbers. Nobody outside the preview stream has played Blackbird, and any “best team” list published before 24 September is invented. What travels reliably between a preview stream and live play is mechanism — which is what is above — and material requirements, which is what you can act on today.

Quantities are the other gap: the recaps name the materials but not how many of each. Zankou wanted 35 Eternal Memory; assume the same order of magnitude, verify on the ascension screen.
