Odette and Sandrone team comps — and how to run either one without the other

By DayOneFix Editorial · August 12, 2026

Every Chinese launch guide names the same best partner for Odette — one guide calls her “Sandrone’s seventh constellation.” That’s useful if you pulled Sandrone last version. If you didn’t, here is what actually works, because Odette’s structural advantage is that she fits all four Stellar Glimmer sub-systems, not just one.

Why she fits everywhere

7.0 splits the new reactions into four lanes: Cryo and Electro Stellar-Conduct, Anemo and Cryo Stellar Swirl. Odette is currently the only limited off-field unit that slots into every one of them — the reason CN reviewers rank her first among all four 7.0 banners. Practically: whichever lane your roster already leans toward, she has a home there.

The best team (if you have her)

Sandrone + Odette + Alyosha + Kazuha

Odette replaces the melee Cryo applicators the archetype used to need — her dancing shadow self-targets over a wide area, unlike Qiqi or Diona who have to hug the enemy. Kazuha groups and shreds; Alyosha covers healing, Electro application and an ATK buff that helps Odette hit her 3,000 ATK threshold. Swap Kazuha → Sucrose for free, or → Diona / Qiqi if you need more survivability.

Teams without Sandrone

1. Wriothesley / Cyno Stellar-Conduct — both got Stellar-Conduct retrofits this version and both want exactly what Odette provides: long off-field Cryo uptime plus the reaction conversion. Wriothesley + Odette + Alyosha + Diona is the budget-complete version. One caveat from the CN guides: in Cyno teams Alyosha is often redundant (Cyno applies enough Electro himself) — run a shred or Cryo support in that slot instead.

2. Yumemizuki Mizuki Stellar Swirl — the Anemo lane. Mizuki’s buffed off-field scaling pairs directly with Odette’s Cryo uptime, and Stellar Swirl is officially confirmed to crit on talent-driven damage, which makes this lane scale differently from classic transformative Swirl.

3. Free-to-play — Cryo Traveler + Odette + Yae Miko or Alyosha + Sucrose. Every unit other than Odette herself is obtainable without pulling. The Cryo Traveler also converts reactions, so this team keeps the Stellar system live even before Odette’s constellations.

4. The Yae Miko question — if you own Yae Miko, she is the strongest Electro off-field partner for the Conduct lane and Odette becomes an upgrade rather than a necessity. If you don’t, CN guides are direct about it: Odette is close to mandatory for running these teams at all, and Alyosha (free this version) is the stand-in that gets you ~90% of the way.

Sandrone teams without Odette

The mirror of the question above, and the more common one now that Odette’s banner has closed: you pulled Sandrone, you did not get Odette, and every guide prints the pair together.

Start from why Odette is in that team, because it tells you exactly what you are shopping for. Sandrone’s Stellar-Conduct lane needs Cryo kept on the target while she works, and Odette’s dancing shadow does it off-field and over a wide area — she self-targets. She is not irreplaceable as a Cryo applicator; she is irreplaceable as one that does not need to stand next to the enemy.

So the substitutes are the Cryo applicators this page already names, with their cost stated honestly:

What you give up with Diona or Qiqi is the thing that made Odette worth a banner: both are melee applicators that have to hug the enemy, so your Cryo uptime becomes a function of positioning rather than something that just happens. On single large targets that is a mild tax. On spread-out or mobile enemies it is the whole difference.

Two things this page will not pretend to know: there is no published with-versus-without damage figure for Sandrone teams, and the Chinese guides this page draws on were written around Odette rather than around her absence. Treat the list above as the substitution logic the guides imply, not as a tested ranking. The 7.1 equivalent of this problem — Vesna and Vodyanitsa teams without Odette — has the same three names in it, which is at least consistent.

FAQ

What is Odette’s best team? Sandrone + Odette + Alyosha + Kazuha. Odette replaces the melee Cryo applicators the archetype used to need; Kazuha groups and shreds, Alyosha covers healing, Electro application and an ATK buff. Swap Kazuha for Sucrose for free, or Diona / Qiqi for survivability.

What are the best Odette teams without Sandrone? Wriothesley or Cyno Stellar-Conduct (Wriothesley + Odette + Alyosha + Diona is the budget-complete version), Yumemizuki Mizuki Stellar Swirl, or the free-to-play team below.

Is there a free-to-play Odette team? Yes: Cryo Traveler + Odette + Yae Miko or Alyosha + Sucrose — every unit other than Odette herself is obtainable without pulling, and the Cryo Traveler also converts reactions.

Do you need Yae Miko for Odette teams? If you own her, she is the strongest Electro off-field partner for the Conduct lane and Odette becomes an upgrade rather than a necessity. If you don’t, CN guides say Odette is close to mandatory for these teams, and the free Alyosha gets you about 90% of the way.

What is the best Sandrone team without Odette? Sandrone + a Cryo applicator + Alyosha + Kazuha, with Cryo Traveler the closest free substitute for Odette because they also convert reactions; Diona and Qiqi are the alternatives if you want shielding or healing. The cost is that Diona and Qiqi are melee applicators — they have to stay near the enemy, where Odette applied Cryo off-field over a wide area. No with-versus-without damage figure has been published, so this is substitution logic rather than a tested ranking.

Can two Odette teammates wear Heart of the Furnace? No — same-name set bonuses don’t apply twice in a party. If Odette wears the new set, her supports need something else.

Sources

Team compositions and the Sandrone framing come from independent Chinese launch guides (新提瓦特小助手, 冻梨游研社, 蘑菇芋头) that agree on the core structure — labelled community consensus. The “Sandrone without Odette” section is our own reasoning from those same guides’ stated premises (Odette’s value being wide off-field Cryo, and Qiqi and Diona being the melee applicators she replaced); no source ranks the substitutes for that direction, and the section says so rather than inventing an order. Reaction lanes, the crit confirmation and set-stacking rules are from the official Version 7.0 update notes.
