Clawed PC Requirements, Game Size, and Steam Deck
By DayOneFix Editorial · August 8, 2026
Clawed needs 11 GB of storage, Windows 10/11, and DirectX 12. Its official Steam requirements start at a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5 with 6 GB of RAM, then jump sharply at the recommended tier to a Ryzen 9 7950X3D or Intel i9-14900K. Steam does not display a Steam Deck compatibility rating for Clawed, so Deck compatibility is unknown.
Everything in the table below comes from the official Clawed Steam page. It is the published PC specification, not a performance test or a promise of a particular frame rate.
Launch record — 5 September 2026
Clawed shipped on 13 August 2026 at $19.99, Windows only. On 5 September 2026, the Steam rating was Mixed (388 positive / 353 negative on 5 September). By that date, Flatrock Games had pushed five patches — 1.01 (15 Aug), 1.02 (16 Aug), 1.03 (20 Aug), 1.04 (27 Aug) and 1.05 (29 Aug) — mostly quest, save and co-op fixes; 1.04 fixed co-op respawning at the pier instead of the last checkpoint and joining players spawning at the pier, 1.05 fixed a GPU-driver crash tied to the Toy puzzle. In the 100 most recent negative English reviews sampled on 5 September, co-op and connection problems were the top complaint (24), followed by black screens on load (17), save problems (17) and stutter (16). Valve’s Steam Deck verdict recorded on 5 September was Unsupported. Everything below was written around launch and is kept as the record; where a section said “unverified until the game ships”, this block is the verification.
Official Clawed system requirements
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10/11 | Windows 10/11 |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5 | AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D or Intel i9-14900K |
| Memory | 6 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT or NVIDIA GeForce 1080 | AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or NVIDIA GeForce 3080 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Storage | 11 GB available space | 11 GB available space |
The two listed processor alternatives use a broad “Intel Core i5” label at minimum, while the AMD minimum is specific to the Ryzen 5 2600X. The table is reproduced as Steam publishes it; Flatrock Games has not supplied a more detailed Intel minimum model in the official information available here.
How big is Clawed?
The official storage requirement is 11 GB of available space at both the minimum and recommended levels. That is the only verified answer to “Clawed game size.” It is a storage requirement, not a measured download size, installed size after updates, or a prediction about future patches. Flatrock Games has not said more.
If you are clearing disk space, leave more free space than the bare requirement where practical. That is ordinary PC housekeeping, not a claim that Clawed needs a specific undocumented amount of temporary space. The published number to plan around is 11 GB.
The recommended tier is unusually high above minimum
The notable fact here is the size of the recommended hardware jump. The minimum CPU line names an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X or an Intel Core i5, whereas the recommended line names an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D or an Intel i9-14900K. Memory rises from 6 GB to 16 GB. The listed graphics card rises from an RX 5600 XT or GeForce 1080 to an RX 6800 XT or GeForce 3080.
That is a large gap between the two published tiers. It is reasonable to flag it when deciding whether your PC lines up with the recommended specification. It is not evidence for a claimed resolution, graphics preset, target frame rate, or expected performance on hardware between those tiers. The Steam page gives the requirements, but Flatrock Games has not said what exact performance target each tier represents.
Read “minimum” and “recommended” as the developer’s own labels, not as a universal definition of playable or ideal. If your hardware falls between them, the official listing does not let us promise how it will perform. If it falls below the minimum, it also does not support a claim that the game will run anyway.
Is Clawed Steam Deck compatible?
Unknown. Steam does not show a Steam Deck compatibility rating for Clawed. There is no official Verified, Playable, Unsupported, or Unknown rating displayed on its Steam page. The absence of a compatibility rating is not an answer about actual playability.
Do not read the Windows requirement as proof that it will work on Steam Deck, and do not read the missing Deck badge as proof that it will not. A Steam Deck rating is a separate compatibility assessment. Until Steam displays one or Flatrock Games makes a statement, the honest answer is that compatibility has not been stated.
One thing Steam does confirm: Clawed is listed with Full controller support. That matters here because full controller support is a prerequisite for a comfortable Deck experience — but it is only a prerequisite. It says nothing about frame rates, battery life, text legibility at 800p, or whether the game launches under Proton at all. Plenty of fully controller-supported Windows games are rated Unsupported on Deck.
The same restraint applies to battery life, graphics settings, and whether online co-op works on Steam Deck. Flatrock Games has not said. This page will not turn a missing rating into a recommendation.
Is Clawed on Mac or Linux?
The Steam requirements list Windows 10/11. They do not list Mac or Linux. That confirms the published operating-system requirement; it does not establish an unannounced port or workaround. Flatrock Games has not said whether there will be Mac or Linux versions.
If you are really deciding between PC and a console, there is no announced console edition to compare against. The Steam page and the developer’s site identify PC; no PS5, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, or Game Pass version has been announced. The precise platform status is in Clawed PS5, Xbox and console status.
Specs and multiplayer: separate the two questions
Clawed’s Steam page lists both Single-player and Online Co-op. Its official description says: “Fight dinos, explore the park and solve puzzles with your teammates! Invite your friends to join you on your Journey through Prehistoria.” Those labels tell PC players that online co-op is supported; they do not change the system-requirements table or promise that any device below recommended will have a particular co-op experience.
For what the co-op listing confirms, including the fact that no official player cap is published, see is Clawed co-op or multiplayer?. For session crashes or failed demo invites, use Clawed multiplayer not working. That checklist avoids unsupported game-specific claims.
Does this say anything about crossplay?
No. The listed Windows PC platform is why a cross-platform question does not presently arise: there are no announced PS5, Xbox, PS4, Switch, Mac, or Linux versions with which Steam players could crossplay. It is not evidence of a crossplay setting being enabled or disabled. The straightforward explanation is in does Clawed have crossplay?.
Bottom line
For Clawed’s published PC requirements, plan for Windows 10/11, DirectX 12, and 11 GB available storage. The official minimum is a Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5, 6 GB RAM, and an RX 5600 XT or GeForce 1080. The recommended tier rises to a Ryzen 9 7950X3D or i9-14900K, 16 GB RAM, and an RX 6800 XT or GeForce 3080—a notably large step up.
Steam Deck compatibility is not confirmed either way because Steam shows no compatibility rating. Flatrock Games has not said whether the game runs on Deck, Mac, or Linux, so those answers should remain unknown rather than guessed.

The whole requirements table (Windows 10/11, Ryzen 5 2600X or Intel Core i5 against Ryzen 9 7950X3D or Intel i9-14900K, 6 GB against 16 GB of RAM, RX 5600 XT or GeForce 1080 against RX 6800 XT or GeForce 3080, DirectX 12 and 11 GB of storage at both tiers), the Full controller support label, the Single-player and Online Co-op categories, the quoted description, and the fact that no Steam Deck compatibility rating is displayed all come from the official Clawed Steam page; the Flatrock Games page names Steam PC only. Nothing on this page is a benchmark: Flatrock Games has published no target resolution, preset or frame rate for either tier, and neither source contains a statement about Steam Deck, Mac or Linux. The observation that full controller support is only a prerequisite for a comfortable Deck experience, and the advice to leave more free space than the bare 11 GB, are editorial notes rather than anything either source says.
