Wuthering Waves server status: is it down right now?
By DayOneFix Editorial · August 13, 2026
Lag or disconnects on launch day?
Half the launch-week "server errors" we trace are routing problems between you and the game servers, not the servers themselves. A game booster reroutes that path. GearUP is the one we point people to: it supports most new releases within a day of launch.

Most “Wuthering Waves is down” moments are one of three things, and only one of them is an outage. Here is how to tell them apart in about a minute — plus the scheduled downtime coming with 3.6 on 20 August.
3.6 launch-day status (20 August)
Servers are open — 3.6 launched on schedule at 11:00 (UTC+8) on 20 August. Within minutes, players were posting gameplay feedback rather than login complaints (community signal, 11:00–11:10 UTC+8). If your client still fails: restart the launcher and let the update finish — note the game also runs an additional in-game download after the launcher patch, so a fresh login can sit on a download screen without being broken. Compensation — Astrite ×300 and Crystal Solvent ×2 — arrives by in-game mail and can lag the launch; check the mailbox before reporting it missing. 3.6 launch codes are tracked here — none issued yet as of 12:05.
iOS login failures (12:05): faded. The early wave of iOS lockouts did not grow — consistent with the usual cause, App Store propagation catching up to the servers. If yours persists: update the app from the App Store, force-close, retry. For PS5 players, crashes and the 3.6 console question have their own page.
First: is it scheduled?
Version updates take the servers down on purpose. Kuro’s pattern has been consistent: maintenance starts in the early morning (UTC+8) and the new version comes up around 11:00 (UTC+8). If you can’t log in on a version launch day, that is maintenance, not an outage — and the compensation for it usually arrives by in-game mail afterwards.
3.6 launches 20 August. The exact maintenance window is normally posted a couple of days beforehand; our countdown page carries it as soon as the official notice lands, translated into your timezone.
Second: is it everyone, or you?
Kuro does not run a public status dashboard, so the real signals are:
- The official channels — the game’s X account and Discord are where genuine incidents get acknowledged. No post plus widespread reports usually means load, not a declared outage.
- Third-party outage trackers — useful as a crowd signal, but they measure reports, not servers. A spike right after a version launch is expected and means nothing on its own.
- Your own region — Wuthering Waves runs separate servers (Asia, America, Europe, SEA, HMT). If friends on a different region are fine, the problem is regional, not global.
Third: the local checks that actually fix things
If the servers are up and you still can’t get in, these are the causes that account for most cases:
- Client version mismatch — the most common one after a patch drops. The launcher must finish updating before login works; a partially updated client fails at the connection step rather than telling you why.
- Network path, not network speed — Wuthering Waves is sensitive to routing, so a fast connection can still fail. Switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, or toggling a VPN off, resolves more login failures than any in-game setting.
- Account region mismatch — logging into the wrong regional server shows an error that reads like an outage.
Persistent disconnects during play, rather than at login, are a different problem — the desync and disconnection fixes are here.
What we do during launch windows
For 3.6 on 20 August we watch the maintenance window and log what actually happens: when servers return, whether login queues form, and which errors are widespread versus isolated. Anything we can’t attribute to an official source or reproduce, we don’t report as an outage.
