Hell Let Loose: Vietnam on PS5, Xbox and Consoles

By DayOneFix Editorial · August 9, 2026

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC. It is not a PC-only release. Team17’s July 31 Q&A says the rebuilt online architecture aims at “providing the same core online experience across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.” That is the official platform statement, available through Team17’s Steam announcements.

The apparent contradiction that prompts many PS5 and Xbox searches is easy to explain. The Steam store page lists Windows 10/11 64-bit in its requirements because it is a Steam storefront page. Steam’s Windows listing does not mean the game has no console edition. For Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, the official Q&A specifically names PS5 and Xbox Series X and S alongside PC.

The first three rows are positive confirmations. The remaining rows are intentionally not predictions. A missing PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Mac, or Linux announcement is not proof that a version can never exist; Team17 has not said. The Steam requirements are useful PC information, but they should not be used to invent a wider platform roadmap.

One related item needs to be kept distinct: Team17 published an August 14 announcement saying the game runs on SteamOS and Linux. That describes running through a compatibility layer. The Steam store page’s native platform list is still Windows only — we re-checked that on 23 August 2026 — so the two statements are not the same thing.

PS5 and Xbox are part of the online plan

The official Q&A’s phrase “same core online experience” is meaningful because it names consoles as part of the online architecture, not merely as a logo at the edge of a product page. It places PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S in the same stated online scope. Steam also classifies the game as Cross-Platform Multiplayer, alongside Multi-player, PvP, and Online PvP. See the official Steam store listing for those categories.

For the practical crossplay rules, visit Hell Let Loose: Vietnam crossplay and server names. Team17 has published a server-name suffix system: X means Xbox-only, P means PS5-only, C means Xbox-and-PS5 console crossplay, and servers without those suffixes support full cross-platform multiplayer. That means a console release does not imply every server has the identical platform mix; the final server-name letter is the confirmed identifier.

Why the Steam page says Windows

Steam distributes the PC version, so its product page publishes PC technical requirements. It says Windows 10/11 64-bit and lists DirectX 12, broadband internet, and the CPU/GPU requirements needed for that version. It does not function as a PlayStation or Xbox product page, so it is the wrong place to expect a console operating-system line or console hardware specification.

The distinction is especially useful for comparison shoppers. “Steam lists Windows” can accurately answer whether Steam supports a Mac or Linux build in the listed requirements: it does not list one. It cannot overrule a separate official statement that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are supported platforms. Both things can be true at once: the Steam edition is Windows PC, and the game is also on current-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Release date and price

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam released on August 13, 2026, and the Steam store page lists a price of $39.99 with no discount running — release status and price both checked on that listing on 23 August 2026. Pre-launch coverage carried a $35.99 figure, which no longer applies. That $39.99 is the US Steam price; it is not a claim that every regional storefront or console store displays the same currency or amount. Team17 has not said whether there are separate editions or platform-specific price differences.

The game is developed by Expression Games and published by Team17. Steam categorizes it as Action, Massively Multiplayer, Simulation, and Strategy, while its multiplayer labels include PvP and Online PvP. Console subscriptions: what is known

For the July crossplay playtest, console access required PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass Essential. That fact applies to the playtest. It should not be treated as a statement of the release version’s ongoing online-subscription policy.

Team17 has not said in the supplied facts whether PS+ or Game Pass Essential is required to play online now that the game is out. This is one of those cases where a sourced answer is more useful than a confident guess: the playtest rule is verified, and the retail subscription rule is not. Check the live console listing or a new Team17 announcement when deciding whether to subscribe for online play.

Console voice chat and known issue boundaries

Voice questions are separate from platform availability. In a July 30 announcement, Team17 said, “Players should no longer experience the robotic voice effect in Command Chat or Squad Chat.” It also said, “The remaining Proximity Chat issue requires an update to the Epic Online Services (EOS) voice chat system.” The first statement describes a fixed robotic-voice effect in Command and Squad Chat; the second says the Proximity Chat issue remains and depends on EOS.

Those statements do not establish a console-only fault, nor do they provide a console-specific setting to change. If your microphone is the issue, use the voice chat and VOIP checklist, which keeps the fixed and unresolved issues separate and limits its steps to general PC checks where appropriate.

Bottom line

PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam are confirmed alongside PC. Steam listing Windows 10/11 tells you about the Steam PC edition; it does not make the game PC-only. Team17’s official wording is the clearest source: the stated aim was the same core online experience across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S.

Sources

The platform statement is quoted from Team17’s official July 31 Q&A and the server-suffix rule from its July 24 announcement, both in Team17’s official Steam announcements. The SteamOS/Linux announcement of 14 August is in that same feed; it is carried over from our Traditional Chinese edition of this page, which cited it when it was checked on 17 August 2026, and we did not re-open that announcement today. The Windows 10/11 requirement, the store categories and the language support come from the Steam store page. On 23 August 2026 we re-checked three things on that listing: the release status (released, dated 13 August 2026), the $39.99 price with no discount running, and the native platform list, which is Windows only. The store categories, language support and the requirements table were not re-verified today. The subscription section describes the entry condition for the July console playtest and says so explicitly — Team17 has published nothing about what applies to the released game, so the page does not convert a test rule into retail policy. The rows marked “no version announced” mean both sources were checked and contain no such announcement; they are not a statement that a version has been ruled out.
