Genshin Impact banner schedule — what is running, what is next, and the version cadence you can plan around

Two different questions, two different kinds of answer. What is running now is settled. What comes after the announced phase is not — but the version cadence has been tight enough for a year that you can plan around it without touching a single leak.
Version 7.0 phases
Phase 2 is live to 22 September 14:59 (UTC+8). Its featured 4★ are Aino, Iansan and Lan Yan; the rate-up 5★ weapons are Bloodsoaked Ruins and Fractured Halo, both polearms.
Phase 1 (ended 1 September) ran Odette’s debut with an Arlecchino rerun, featured 4★ Alyosha, Sucrose and Lynette, and the weapons Whitelake Frostfeather and Crimson Moon’s Semblance. The cadence
Version start dates, taken from HoYoverse’s own update announcements:

Four consecutive gaps of 40–42 days. Each version splits into two phases of roughly three weeks, which matches what 7.0 is doing (12 Aug → 1 Sep → 22 Sep).
What that gives you: the cadence pointed at 22 September and HoYoverse has since confirmed it — version 7.1 “A Rekviem for the Underworld” launches 23 September, the day after 7.0 Phase 2’s wishes close. The two 5-stars are now named — Vesna (Anemo) and Vodyanitsa (Hydro), each with its event wish in HoYoverse’s Character Skill Showcases of 14–15 September — though the phase split and the reruns wait on the wish notice, so you have a firm date to work backwards from; Primogem income between now and then is a number you can actually compute.
What we will not print
Who else is on the 7.1 banners. Beyond Vesna and Vodyanitsa, leaks are circulating and some will be right. We do not publish them, for one practical reason: a wrong leak costs you Primogems you cannot get back, and the official preview arrives about a week before the version anyway.
Exact banner end times. Phases end with maintenance, which can shift by hours. Use the in-game timer if you are cutting it close.

Sources, and how solid each part is
The cadence table is first-party — every date comes from HoYoverse’s own version update announcements pulled from the official HoYoLAB news feed, and the gaps are computed from those dates.
Correction, 14 September 2026. This section used to say HoYoverse does not publish wish announcements to the HoYoLAB news feed and that our line-up was therefore community-sourced. That was wrong: the official “Version 7.0 Event Wishes Notice — Phase II” is on the HoYoLAB news feed, and it is where the Phase 2 characters, 4★, weapons and the exact 1 Sep 18:00 – 22 Sep 14:59 window on this page now come from. We have switched to it and left this note rather than quietly editing the claim.
What is still not first-party: version 7.1’s banner line-up. The launch date (23 September) is official, and HoYoverse’s Character Skill Showcases name Vesna and Vodyanitsa with their event wishes; but the wish notice fixing phases, 4-stars and reruns has not been published, so the window is projected and the phase order is not stated.
