Why Steam says 16 September

The US Steam page lists 16 September while every publisher announcement says 17 September. That gap is what a single worldwide unlock looks like when it is timed for Japan: a release at, say, midnight or morning JST on the 17th is still the 16th in North America. It fits the “simultaneous worldwide release” wording and how the 1st Chapter unlocked, but no one has posted the actual moment. Until they do, this page counts to your local midnight on the 17th and says so.

Standard: the game. On Switch 2 it is a dedicated edition at $64.99; if you already own the Switch version you can pay $4.99 to upgrade instead of buying twice.

Clouded Leopard’s announcement names one concrete carry-over: finish Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and you unlock classic-style SC costumes for Estelle and Joshua in the 2nd. Whether anything else transfers — levels, items, Bracer rank — has not been described; historically the original SC read a FC clear save for small bonuses, so a similar light touch is the safe assumption, labelled as an assumption.
