Endfield [Dreamscape of Wind and Snow] — what the version actually contains, and what to do before it lands

By DayOneFix Editorial · August 24, 2026

Version [Dreamscape of Wind and Snow] lands on 2 September 2026, and it is really two drops: the new operator and the new region on day one, and then Suiming, a free Purrchena and the first rerun banner in the game’s history on 24 September. If you have read 30 August anywhere — including on this site, which carried it until we corrected every Endfield page on 24 August 2026 — that date predates GRYPHLINE saying otherwise.

This page is the contents and the prep. If you want the official 22 August DEV Comm quoted in full, plus our scoring of the “Si” prediction that did not survive it, that is the 1.5 roadmap. If you want a ticking clock, that is the countdown page.

The date, and why two of them are circulating

There are two first-party sources for this version, and only one of them has a date on it.

The official bulletin has no date. Hypergryph’s “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” Version DEV Comm, published to the official news hub on 22 August 2026, names the version and dates the 24 September banners — and gives no version launch date, no maintenance window, and no new operator. The Version Update Notes that would normally carry the maintenance times still have not posted; the newest ones on the hub are still [Homecoming]‘s, from 16 July.

The publisher’s press materials do. On 21 August, GRYPHLINE issued a version overview to press stating that [Dreamscape of Wind and Snow] releases on 2 September, headlined by Typhoeus. It ran essentially verbatim across Gematsu, Inven Global, Final Weapon, MonsterVine, Noisy Pixel and Worthplaying the same day. That is publisher-issued and specific, and it is where the date comes from.

The 30 August figure was a third-party schedule estimate from before that — Game8’s banner schedule, plus Endfield’s ~45-day cadence. We had it too, on our countdown page and across this cluster, and it is superseded: every Endfield page here now reads 2 September, corrected on 24 August 2026.

What Gryphline has not said is the time. Every version so far has followed the same shape in its own update notes — Asia server 06:00 to 12:00 (UTC+8) on the day, Americas and Europe 17:00 to 23:00 (UTC-5) the evening before — so the practical expectation is a Wednesday-morning return in Asia and a Tuesday-evening one in the west. That pattern is ours, read off four sets of official notes; the window for this version has not been published.

One consequence you can act on immediately: Liino’s banner is worded in Gryphline’s own notice as running until “before version update and maintenance”. If the handover is 2 September rather than 30 August, that decision has three more days in it than most sites are telling you.

What arrives on 2 September

Typhoeus, a 6★ Nature Striker, and the only rate-up. GRYPHLINE describes her as an easygoing icefield huntress with an almost obsessive curiosity about Sami legends, and — this is the line that matters — “a familiar Operator from the original Arknights”. She wields a bow as tall as she is, can leap into the air to fire at multiple targets while evading ground-based attacks, and deploys a Barrage Array that slows enemies. The combination the publisher lists is aerial mobility, traps and concentrated Nature Burst damage.

She is entry 01 of 33 on the official operator roster and has never appeared in a headhunting pool, which is what made her the obvious next release before any of this was announced. Chinese coverage of the 21 August preview broadcast reads her as a single rate-up — one featured 6★ rather than the usual pairing — and that framing matches the publisher’s own “headlined by Typhoeus” phrasing. CN also identifies her as the Endfield incarnation of Arknights’ 提丰 and calls the version 「提丰再旅」, Typhon travels again; GRYPHLINE says only “a familiar Operator”, so treat the specific identification as community.

The Snowy Forest, a new region outside Yinglung Pass, built around enchanted fog that walks travellers in circles. The Endministrator and Chief Engineer Andre get lost in it with her. Snow visibly accumulates on characters as you go deeper — the DEV Comm’s otherwise dry note about “richer surface details” and “more realistic snow adhesion and accumulation” is describing this. The region boss is Gloomwald’s Rage.

A Nordic folk-electronic score. GRYPHLINE brought in Finnish electronic musician Vilma Jää for the version theme, following the same approach as [Homecoming]‘s boss track by Crywolf. Small thing; it is also the clearest signal of how much the team is investing in the region’s identity.

CN’s own verdict on the size of all this is less reverent, and worth hearing. The most-liked comment on 杨颜同学’s preview roundup (about 284,000 plays) is a three-line shrug: one snow-peak map, one running event, one new purple operator — 715 likes, and the same joke turns up independently under 梦轩dada’s summary. 鳞杨 framed it as a “small thunder version that isn’t carrying revenue pressure”. None of that is a criticism of the content; it is a warning against expecting a landmark patch.

What arrives on 24 September

The back half of the version is the substantial one, and all three pieces land the same day.

Suiming — a city that is the puzzle. GRYPHLINE describes it as built from the team’s idea of turning an entire city into one. Tides rise and fall on a repeating 15-minute loop; when the water drops, streets and routes you could not reach open up. You are recovering parts to repair the Waking Bell before the Blight Tide arrives. Every time the tide rises, time rewinds — but the parts you have collected are kept, so each loop stacks progress and environmental detail rather than resetting you.

Purrchena, free. The Purrchena Tribute Event hands out Purrchena — a Physical Defender, entry 02 of 33 on the roster, and Brand Ambassador for the Ætherside Syndrome Relief Foundation — along with her recommended weapon, Dessert Moment. She raises her shield to protect nearby teammates and delivers gift boxes that heal allies or trigger other support effects. Completing all six event missions yields enough copies to max the Potential of both the operator and the weapon. There is no gacha involved.

RE-Factor Headhunting #1, the first rerun mechanism the game has had. [Resplendent Spectrum] runs Yvonne rate-up, with a pool of Yvonne, Ember, Lifeng, Ardelia, Last Rite and Pogranichnik. Its published rules are unusual and generous in one specific way: a 6★ is guaranteed within 80 pulls and that counter is shared across every RE-Factor banner, carrying over until you actually get one. The rate-up 6★ is guaranteed within 120 across banners of the same name, you get a free 10-pull at 30, 60 and 90 attempts, and those free pulls do not count toward any counter. A weapon banner, [Tag Artist Issue], opens alongside it with the 6★ handcannon Artzy Tyrannical.

Two numbers that do not exist, no matter what any calculator tells you: Gryphline has never published percentage rates for any Endfield banner, and there is no official Oroberyl-per-pull conversion. Every “how many pulls do I need” table on the internet has silently invented at least one of those.

Also listed by the publisher, without dates: Trial of the Bow, Chubby Lung Attacks, Runners’ Steeplechase, and new Echoes of War seasons. And separately: GRYPHLINE has confirmed Endfield is coming to Steam, with wishlisting already open.

The quality-of-life changes that will change your day

The DEV Comm is mostly a housekeeping bulletin, and we quote it in full on the roadmap page. Three items are worth pulling forward here because they informed this page’s 24 August 2026 preparation advice for the announced 2 September update:

Two more, previewed but explicitly not shipping in this version: a [Gear Plan] one-click loadout switcher, and an [Auto-Artificer] tab for Gear Artificing. Do not plan around either.

Your pre-1.5 checklist

One community tip that is too practical to leave out, from the comments on 梦轩dada’s preview summary: players comparing preview data reported that Typhoeus’s signature weapon and Tangtang’s carry the same stat lines, so essences farmed for one may serve the other. That is a preview-stage community claim, not published data, and it costs nothing to verify in-game once [Progression Overview] is live.

What is still not announced

FAQ

When does Endfield 1.5 release? 2 September 2026, per GRYPHLINE’s own version overview issued to press on 21 August 2026. Hypergryph’s official DEV Comm of 22 August gives no date at all, and the Version Update Notes carrying the maintenance window have not posted. Earlier 30 August dates were third-party schedule estimates and are superseded.

Who is the 1.5 banner character? Typhoeus, a 6★ Nature Striker, described by GRYPHLINE as a familiar Operator from the original Arknights. She uses a bow as tall as she is, leaps into the air to hit multiple targets while dodging ground attacks, and deploys a Barrage Array that slows enemies. Chinese coverage of the preview broadcast reads her as the version’s only rate-up.

Is Purrchena free in Endfield 1.5? Yes. The Purrchena Tribute Event begins 24 September and awards Purrchena, a Physical Defender, plus her recommended weapon Dessert Moment. Completing all six event missions provides enough copies to max the Potential of both.

What is Suiming? A new puzzle-exploration city map opening 24 September. Its tides rise and fall on a repeating 15-minute loop, opening routes as the water drops; you collect parts to repair the Waking Bell before the Blight Tide arrives. Time rewinds each loop, but collected parts are kept.

Does the Liino banner end on 30 August? Gryphline’s own wording is “before version update and maintenance”, which ties it to the handover rather than to a calendar date. With the version dated to 2 September, the banner runs until then.

How many pulls do I need for Typhoeus? Unanswerable honestly. On Chartered Headhunting the rate-up 6★ is guaranteed within 120 attempts, which is the only figure Gryphline publishes. Percentage rates are not published anywhere on the web, and there is no official Oroberyl-per-pull conversion, so any specific cost is somebody’s estimate.

Is Endfield 1.5 a big version? The Chinese community’s own shorthand, on the biggest preview roundups, is “one snow-peak map, one running event, one new purple operator” — read as a mid-size patch rather than a landmark one. It is a community read, not a verdict.

Sources

The version name, every quality-of-life item, both RE-Factor banners, their 24 September date, their pools and all pity figures are quoted from Hypergryph’s “Dreamscape of Wind and Snow” Version DEV Comm of 22 August 2026, read in both its English and Traditional Chinese editions on 24 August 2026; that bulletin contains no version date and names no operator, which is why the two are sourced separately below. The 2 September date, Typhoeus’s kit and lore, the Snowy Forest, Gloomwald’s Rage, Vilma Jää’s involvement, Suiming’s 15-minute tide loop, the Waking Bell and Blight Tide, the Purrchena Tribute Event and its six missions, Dessert Moment, Trial of the Bow, Chubby Lung Attacks, Runners’ Steeplechase, the Echoes of War seasons and the Steam confirmation all come from GRYPHLINE’s version overview issued to press on 21 August 2026 and reproduced in full by Gematsu, with the same text appearing at Inven Global, Final Weapon, MonsterVine, Noisy Pixel and Worthplaying the same day. That material is publisher-issued but does not appear on Hypergryph’s own news hub, and it is labelled as such throughout. Typhoeus and Purrchena’s roster positions (01 and 02 of 33) and their class and element labels are from Gryphline’s official operator page, read 24 August 2026. The maintenance-window pattern is our reading of four sets of official Version Update Notes — 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 — and is not an announced window for this version; the Liino banner’s “before version update and maintenance” wording is from the [Homecoming] notes. The “1.5” number is Hypergryph’s own, from the official site’s media entry for the version trailer, filed as 1.5版本PV; its English bulletins do not print version numbers. Gryphline has published no percentage rates and no Oroberyl-per-pull conversion in any bulletin we have read. Community material is attributed and reported as opinion, with Bilibili play counts read 24 August 2026: 杨颜同学’s preview roundup (about 284k) and the “one snow-peak map, one running event, one purple operator” comment at 715 likes; 梦轩dada’s preview summary (about 133k) and the signature-weapon essence tip in its comments; 让你爱上学习’s rerun-rules explainer (about 77k) and the rerun-banner argument at 144 likes in its comments; 丸子 (about 101k) and 春风满马 (about 78k) on the preview broadcast; 鳞杨 on the version’s scale; and the CN community’s identification of Typhoeus with Arknights’ 提丰, which GRYPHLINE has not made in those terms. Checked 24 August 2026.
