Silent Hill: Townfall is out — when it unlocked, and how it is landing

Silent Hill: Townfall releases on

24 September 2026

The exact unlock time has not been announced. The countdown above runs to midnight where you are, which is the earliest the date can start for you — not a confirmed unlock moment. We update this page as soon as the publisher or the store page states a time.

Released. Konami gave 24 September 2026 with no clock time, and the US Steam page listed 23 September — one global unlock falling on different calendar days by region. Neither Konami nor Steam ever published the hour, so this page never claimed one.

Out now — status on 28 September. Townfall released on schedule: Steam lists it as released on 23 September (US date; 24 September in Asia and Europe), and the Deluxe Edition’s 48-hour early access ran from 22 September. Silent Hill: Townfall — the first-person entry in Konami’s rotating Silent Hill line-up, developed by Screen Burn Interactive (formerly No Code) and co-published with Annapurna Interactive — releases on 24 September 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Deluxe Edition pre-orders play 48 hours early, from 22 September. The countdown above runs in your timezone.

What time does it unlock?

Not announced — and there is a date wrinkle worth knowing about. Konami’s own announcement says 24 September. The US-facing Steam page currently renders the release as “Sep 23”. When a store page and a publisher disagree by one day like this, the usual explanation is a single worldwide unlock moment that falls on the evening of the 23rd in the Americas and the 24th everywhere else — the same pattern big simultaneous releases follow. But that is inference, not announcement: neither company has published an hour. We show the date only, and this page updates the moment either store commits to a clock time.

How to play 48 hours early

The Deluxe Edition ($59.99, digital) includes 48-hour early access — a 22 September start against the standard 24 September. It also carries the digital artbook, the soundtrack, and an alternate outfit for protagonist Simon. The Standard Edition ($49.99) has no early window; its pre-order bonus is limited to CRTV cosmetic styles (“Rusted” everywhere, “Beach Edition” additionally on PS5).

Two days is the largest early-access gap on any September release we track, so if you want launch-night spoiler safety, this is the game where the deluxe tier actually buys meaningful time.

What kind of Silent Hill is this?

A deliberate departure. Townfall is first-person, built by the studio behind Stories Untold and Observation: you play Simon Ordell, a man caught in a loop who repeatedly wakes in the water off St. Amelia, a fog-bound coastal town — not the series’ usual midwestern setting. A handheld CRTV device (the source of those cosmetic pre-order styles) sits at the centre of the mechanics. Expect analogue-horror puzzle pressure more than combat; Konami has positioned it alongside, not instead of, the mainline remakes.

PC system requirements

As listed on the Steam page — note the 75 GB install and the Windows 11 requirement:

Minimum (1080p / 30fps / Low):

OSWindows 11 x64
CPUAMD Ryzen 5 3600 / Intel i7-8700K
RAM16 GB
GPUNVIDIA RTX 2060 Super / AMD RX 6600
DirectXVersion 12
Storage75 GB

Recommended (4K / 30fps / High):

OSWindows 11 x64
CPUAMD Ryzen 7 5700X / Intel i7-9700K
RAM32 GB
GPUNVIDIA RTX 3080 / AMD RX 7800 XT
DirectXVersion 12
Storage75 GB

Both tiers target 30fps, which for a 2026 PC release is a statement about where the GPU budget went. Whether performance holds at launch is exactly the kind of thing this site exists to check.

After launch — what we did and did not cover

Before launch this section promised launch-week fix coverage. Being straight about it: we did not publish a Townfall troubleshooting page. What is verifiable four days in is the Steam reception above — Mixed at 65% positive on 3,096 reviews as of 28 September. If a specific crash or save-file problem becomes widespread, it gets its own page rather than a line here.
