This is exactly the calendar trap this page flagged in advance: the English notice is headlined 27 August in Infold’s UTC-7 convention while Asia unlocks at 11:00 on the 28th. The maintenance window may shift if Infold adjusts it. UPDATE, launch day: maintenance ended on schedule and servers are live as of 11:00 (UTC+8) on 28 August. No 2.9 launch codes have been confirmed yet — 2.8's batch arrived via the official social channels on version day, so check back; this page updates when they post.

Infinity Nikki 2.9 — 「向晴空綻放」, key-arted in English as “Bloom Beneath Bright Skies” — arrives with the update on 28 August 2026 (UTC+8). The countdown above runs to that date in your own timezone; the unlock hour is not official yet, and this page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.
How we know the date
There is exactly one 2.9 post on Infold’s news site, and it is not in English. It is 2.9版本「向晴空綻放」活動說明 on Infold’s Traditional Chinese site, timestamped 23 August 2026 at 04:10 UTC. Its body is three images with no text layer, which is why aggregators have not picked it up: there is nothing on that page for a crawler to read. We read the images.
One thing that is easy to get wrong, so it is worth stating precisely: the news site has no 2.9 post in English or Japanese, but Infold’s official English YouTube channel did publish “Infinity Nikki Version 2.9 Trailer: Bloom Beneath Bright Skies” on 23 August 2026, the same day as the Chinese notice — alongside the Traditional Chinese channel’s ♾️《無限暖暖》2.9版本PV | 向晴空綻放 【心意限定，抽10贈10】. Neither trailer states a date or a time, so the date evidence below is unaffected, but “nothing in English” is not the accurate description any more.

That is: from the 2.9 update on 28 August 2026 until 24 September 2026, 03:49 (UTC+8).
The cross-check that makes this solid. Infold’s English “August 6: Version 2.8 Update Notice” on Steam ends nearly every 2.8 limited-time event at 27 August 2026, 12:49 (UTC-7). Convert it: 12:49 UTC-7 is 19:49 UTC, which is 28 August 03:49 (UTC+8) — the exact minute the Chinese notice uses as its window boundary, one version later.
There is a third witness, and it is the cleanest one, because it is already written in UTC+8. Infold’s Traditional Chinese 7月17日停服維護說明 — the 2.8 maintenance notice — sets both of 2.8’s limited Resonance pools, 「群夢拂落之曦」 and 「未息歌詠之夜」, to run “2.8版本更新後~8月28日03:49（UTC+8）”, along with the battle pass, the shop pages and most 2.8 event interfaces. So the outgoing version’s own notice already told us when 2.9 takes over, in the same timezone and to the same minute as the 2.9 notice.
Three official notices, two languages, published across six weeks, describing one changeover instant. The date is not an inference; it is stated three times.
Why English coverage will say 27 August
This is the trap worth flagging before it confuses people. Infold dates its English notices in UTC-7 and its Chinese notices in UTC+8 — fifteen hours apart. The 2.9 update falls on 27 August in UTC-7 and 28 August in UTC+8. Both are correct and they are the same moment. When the English notice appears it will most likely be titled “August 27: Version 2.9 Update Notice”, and that will not be a different date from the one on this page.
For North America, then, the practical reading is: the update lands on the evening of Thursday 27 August local time, not on the 28th.
What time does it unlock?
Not announced. No 2.9 maintenance notice exists on any Infold channel. What we can put on the table instead is the pattern, labelled as a pattern — and it is an unusually tight one. Every version update from 2.4 through 2.8 has used the same schedule in Infold’s English notices:

Five for five: maintenance opens at 12:50 (UTC-7) — one minute after the outgoing version’s events expire at 12:49 — and closes at 20:00 (UTC-7), which is 03:00 UTC and 11:00 (UTC+8). Mid-version updates use a shorter 19:00 to 20:00 window with Diamond x100, and they also end at 20:00.
The Traditional Chinese maintenance notices say the same thing in UTC+8: 2.8’s window was published as 7月17日03:50~11:00（UTC+8）, with compensation Diamond x300 and Resonite Crystal x1 for stylists who unlock the inbox and log in before the claim deadline. Same window, other timezone.
We already know 2.8’s events expire at 27 August 12:49 (UTC-7) / 28 August 03:49 (UTC+8). If the pattern holds, 2.9 maintenance runs 27 August 12:50 to 20:00 (UTC-7) = 28 August 03:50 to 11:00 (UTC+8), and the version opens at the end of it — 03:00 UTC.
Note also when the real notice should appear: 2.8’s maintenance notice went up on 15 July at 10:15 UTC, roughly two days before the update. On that cadence, the 2.9 maintenance and pre-download notices land around 26 August.
We are not putting that on the countdown clock, because a five-version pattern is not an announcement — and Infold’s own notices reserve the right to move it. The English notices carry the line “The maintenance schedule may be adjusted based on actual conditions”; the Chinese ones say the server may reopen earlier or later than planned. The moment the real notice is posted, this page gets the confirmed window, the compensation figure and a per-region table.
What the 2.9 notice actually confirms
Everything below is read directly from the three images in the official post. Names are given in the official Traditional Chinese because Infold has published no English names for the events, the minigames or the sketches — “Bloom Beneath Bright Skies” is the sole exception, and the official English trailer has now carried it in a title rather than only on key art.
風物任務・「無所事事之夏」
A summer-camp questline framed around the 「菇朋蘑友」 camp and a “summer of doing nothing”. Stated rewards: Resonite Crystals, Diamonds, growth materials, a neck-accessory sketch 「未來風景」 and an earrings sketch 「晴心向暖」. Completing tasks while the Events-interface task page is open adds Diamonds and the limited card 「晴日大冒險」.
逸事見聞任務活動・「晴光新章」
Two named sub-events — the anecdote quest 「林間心聲」 and the discovery quest 「新芽拾聞」 — rewarding Diamonds and growth materials. Same window as everything else.
尋跡，心聲花園
A puzzle space entered through the subconscious of the mushroom folk (蘑賽拉). The notice describes sorting “heart-voice graffiti” to untangle their thoughts and reopen the garden’s blocked paths. Two NPCs are quoted by name in the notice — 約恩-35 and 維戈-99 — one of them joking that the whole camp might be a dream and that they never left 磐城.
戰鬥！食不可擋
A defence minigame: monsters (魔氣怪) follow the smell of food, and you build skewers from ingredients and seasonings to hold them off. The notice’s own tips: assemble a skewer first, then drag it to aim at the incoming monster; different ingredient combinations produce different effects, and seasonings add a bonus.
餵食！果然對味
Observe what each snail wants and feed it the matching 蝸蝸果. The NPC 烏里里 states there are three flavours, and that each snail’s preference differs.
探索！藝術創想
A memory-and-tiles minigame: study the artwork, then rebuild it from scattered tiles. Nikki’s line frames it as memory-based restoration; Momo (大喵 in this notice) asks whether he is to be the art model.
Every one of these blocks carries the same footnote in the official images: “開發中效果，實際情況以遊戲內為準” — work-in-progress footage, in-game is authoritative.
The banner promotion, from Infold’s own video title
The notice has no gacha content. Infold’s video title does. Its Traditional Chinese 2.9 PV is titled:

The bracketed line, 「心意限定，抽10贈10」, is a first-party statement — Infold wrote it on its own video, so it is not a community report or a datamine. In plain English it announces a 限定 (limited) banner with a pull-10-get-10 promotion: 「抽10贈10」 means ten pulls get you ten more. That English wording is our gloss; the exact official phrasing is the Chinese one above, and it exists only in Chinese — the English trailer title carries no equivalent line.
The title does not name the 限定共鳴 pool, the 5-star set, the phase dates, the pull cost or the exact terms of the offer. Those are still unannounced, and the adjacent fact we already had is unchanged: 2.8’s 「群夢拂落之曦」 and 「未息歌詠之夜」 both close at 28 August 03:49 (UTC+8).
What is NOT confirmed
The list of unknowns is longer than the list of knowns, and any page telling you otherwise today is filling gaps.
- The unlock hour. No maintenance window, no start time, no duration, no compensation figure.
- Which banner, and when. The pull-10-get-10 promotion is official (see the section above), but nothing else about the gacha is — no 限定共鳴 (limited Resonance) pool name, no 5-star set, no phase dates, no reruns. The notice itself contains zero gacha information; it is an events notice, not a version overview.
- New 5-star outfits. Two sketches are named (「未來風景」, 「晴心向暖」) and both are accessory pieces, not sets.
- New areas. Nothing is announced. The camp scenes and the 心聲花園 appear in screenshots, but the notice never says whether they are a new map region or event instances.
- Pre-download. No size, no time, no confirmation it exists for 2.9.
- Compensation. Unannounced, because the maintenance notice does not exist yet.
- Codes. None issued for 2.9.
- Any English name for the version, the events, the minigames, the sketches or the NPCs, other than the key art’s “Bloom Beneath Bright Skies”.
- The 2.9 story beat / main quest. Not mentioned in this notice at all.
- Whether 2.9 has a second half. Infold’s recent pattern is a mid-version update roughly three weeks in; the 24 September end date is consistent with that, but nothing says so.
