EA Sports FC 27 is out — every unlock date, and how it is landing

Out now — status on 28 September. FC 27 released on schedule: Steam lists it as released on 24 September (US date; 25 September elsewhere), after Ultimate and Ultimate Plus early access from 18 September. Three days after full launch, Steam user reviews sit at Mixed — 2,352 of 4,295 positive (55%), all languages. Everything below is kept as the launch record: the dates, the deadlines and what EA did and did not announce.

EA Sports FC 27 releases on 25 September 2026 — but for most of its audience the date that matters is 18 September, when Ultimate and Ultimate Plus pre-orders start their week of early access. The countdown above runs in your timezone.

What time does it unlock?

EA has published exactly one clock time for this release: the free FC 27 Lite goes live at 16:00 UTC on 25 September. Everything else — the Standard Edition on the 25th, early access on the 18th — is dated without an hour. In past years the paid editions unlocked in the afternoon UTC on PC and by console-account region elsewhere, but EA has not stated it for FC 27, so treat any site quoting you a precise hour for those as guessing. This page updates when EA commits.

The 31 August deadline

Unusually, the biggest time pressure is seven weeks before launch: Ultimate Plus can only be pre-ordered until 31 August 2026, and the Ultimate Edition’s early-bird extras end the same day. If you already know you want the early-access week, the decision has a real expiry date — after 31 August the top tier is simply gone, and waiting costs options rather than money.

Early access and EA Play

• Ultimate / Ultimate Plus: full game from 18 September — “up to 7 days early” in EA’s wording.
• EA Play: the customary 10-hour trial of the full game, expected from the same 18 September window per press reporting; EA’s own FC 27 FAQ has not yet spelled out the trial terms, so the fine print is pending.
• FC 27 Lite: free, launches with the Standard Edition at 16:00 UTC on the 25th. EA has not detailed its mode list yet — we will cover what is and isn’t in it when that lands.

Platforms, and two footnotes that matter

FC 27 ships on PC (EA App / Steam), PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch 2 and Switch. Two catches from EA’s own FAQ:

• The Grounds mode is unavailable on PS4 and Xbox One.
• The original Switch only gets the Standard Edition — no early-access route exists on that platform.

Before launch this section promised launch-week fix coverage from 18 September. Being straight about it: we did not publish an FC 27 troubleshooting page. What is verifiable is the Steam reception above — Mixed at 55% positive on 4,295 reviews as of 28 September. If a specific problem (entitlements, secure boot, server outages) becomes widespread, it gets its own page rather than a line here.
