Black Myth: Zhong Kui release date: what's confirmed, what isn't, and the math

There is no release date for Black Myth: Zhong Kui. The 15-minute gameplay reveal that just dropped at Gamescom Opening Night Live lists it plainly: release date TBD, platforms PC and unannounced consoles. Any page showing you a date is inventing one — here is what actually exists.

What the reveal did and did not say
- Shown: sword-focused combat with parries and elemental powers, exploration, boss fights — including a mysterious second swordsman wielding a jian that Game Science has not explained
- Not announced: a release date or window, console platforms, or a Steam page — we searched the Steam store directly: no Zhong Kui listing exists as of today
The math, labelled as math
Game Science’s own precedent is the only hard signal available: Black Myth: Wukong went from reveal (August 2020) to release (August 2024) in four years. Zhong Kui is one year past its announcement and just showed its first work-in-progress footage. If the studio’s rhythm holds, that arithmetic points years out, not months — but that is a pattern on the public record, not information. When a real date lands it will come from Game Science’s own channels, and this page gets it the same day.
