Can your PC run Agefield High: Rock the School?
By DayOneFix Editorial · August 12, 2026
The screenshots say “light indie about bikes and homework”; the spec sheet says otherwise. Here is what Agefield High actually asks of your machine.
The requirements, as listed on Steam
Minimum:
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) |
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i7-7700K |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1070 (8 GB) / AMD RX 580 (8 GB) |
| DirectX | Version 12 |
| Storage | 15 GB — SSD required |
Recommended:
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) |
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 7600X / Intel Core i7-12700K |
| RAM | 32 GB |
| GPU | NVIDIA RTX 3080 / AMD RX 6950 XT |
| DirectX | Version 12 |
| Storage | 15 GB — SSD required |
How to read that
- The floor is real: a GTX 1070 with a full 8 GB of VRAM plus 16 GB system RAM is mid-2020s mid-range, not potato territory. An open school-town streams a lot of world; the SSD requirement says the engine leans on it.
- The ceiling is steep: an RTX 3080 recommendation for an indie is a statement — either generous headroom targeting high framerates, or an unoptimized launch. We find out which on day one.
- No target framerates are published for either tier, so treat “recommended” as “comfortable”, not as a promised number.
Steam Deck and everything that isn’t Windows
Windows only. No macOS, no Linux build, and no Steam Deck compatibility rating at launch — Deck play means Proton with zero official word. Given the DX12 requirement and SSD dependence, cautious optimism is the most anyone can honestly offer; real Deck reports land in our coverage once players produce them.
What launch day will tell us
Performance on the minimum spec, whether the reported 12:00 PM ET unlock holds, and which settings actually matter — all verified in the launch-week coverage this site exists for. If the game stumbles, the fixes land under the Agefield High hub.
